Volleyball 2009
Emily this year played Volleyball. Her team did not do so well but they had a lot of fun and she made some good friends. She is excited for VB this next year and wants to take a few VB training camps. Personally, half the problem with the team is that there is a no-cut policy which allows anyone and everyone who wants to play, play. Well I don't like that. That is not how life is. You work hard and then you can play hard. Some of the girls just stood around which makes mom like me scream from the bleachers.. Yes, I did..If you want to play, be aggressive and play.. Don't just let the ball land in front of you, you've got to move your feet, and get that ball!! The coach was terrible. She just sat on the sideline while the team got behind 10 points. OH how I wanted to step in and pull players. Anyway, enough of my rant..
Emily will play again next year, She is very excited to keep playing. She learned and lot and has a lot to learn. I am very proud of her trying something new. Keep up the good work Emily!!

Emily
Yesterday Emily stayed home from school. It is not like Emme to miss school even when she is sick. Igot up early to take her to orchestra and she was asleep. Angie said she tried to wake her several times so I knew she needed some extra sleep so I let her sleep in till 10:00 hich is very unusual. Anyways, What she did was so cute. mark and I took MJ to get his scout shirt and when we came home she cleaned up our room and gave us cute little cards. She said " you should have seen how it put a smile on your face" . And it did. She is so thoughtful and I thank her for the example she is to me. Boy do I need to become more child like in Christ teachings.
Thank you Emme.
Thank you Emme.

"W.O.W."
Well Emily has done it again! She has received another WOW card from her teachers. She has been on Honor Roll with straight A's again for the 2nd Quarter. The Principal and his Vice Principals cooked breakfast for the Student and their parents in appreciation for the students hard work and good efforts towards being a superb student (there was about 10 students). Emily's LA, Math & Science teachers sat with us and had lots of good things to say about Emily. I am impressed with the respect that these teachers and staff have for their students. In the past I have seen too many times teachers talking down to students like they are nobody, and then they become nobodys. Not here, Everyone is worth the effort. A big shout out to E.M.S. for being the best school ever!!

Go Candy MT Basketball
Tonight was the Richland Young Women's Basketball tournament. Candy Mountain ward goes onto next week. I have been impressed with Emily's learning curve. At the beginning of the season she was so shy, arms by her side and not moving around much (heck, I would be too if I was the youngest, smallest player out there). I have to tell you a totally different girl was playing tonight. Emily had several rebounds and was aggressive on defense (offense still needs a little work). I am soo impressed with the girls in her ward. The last quarter of the game they made a point to get Emily the ball so she could shoot it. I about cried. As a mom you want you children to be and do their best, you want them to be successful, to be accepted and build confidence. They were giving Emily this chance and they did it as a team. It was the sweetest thing I have ever seen, and let me tell you she is soo excited for next weeks game. She said shes going to play better and harder, I love it. Not bad for her first season. Great job Emme!!
